My research is motivated by questions of bio-medical
interest and covers topics in mathematical modelling,
scientific computing, analysis of partial differential
equations as well as aspects of numerical analysis, in
the context of systems of interacting species. Unlike
their one-species counterparts, systems often exhibit
richer, more complex behaviour.
In particular, I am interested in
I obtained my Bachelor of Mathematics at the TU Kaiserlautern in 2014, with my thesis supervised by Prof. R. Pinnau and Prof. O. Tse . In the same year I began the master's programme MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing at the University of Oxford, which I completed with distinction. My dissertation was supervised by Prof. J. Chapman and Prof. M. Bruna . From 2015 to 2019 I was a PhD student at Imperial College London under the supervision of Prof. J. A. Carrillo . I spent one year as an FSMP postdoctoral researcher, hosted by Prof. B. Perthame, at Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions, Sorbonne Université, Paris. On October 1st, 2020, I was inaugurated as a Junior-Professor of Applied Mathematics at the Institute of Scientific Computing at the Technical University of Dresden .
